Screenshots can be captured in different ways with your Samsung Galaxy Note Edge device. Once taken, they will be copied to the clipboard and saved to your device's Gallery under Screenshots folder.
In this content, we individually demonstrate the methods to capture and manage screenshots on the Note Edge to support anyone who needs help doing so, especially those who are still trying to get acquainted with the device's features and interface.
Method 1: Capturing Screenshots with the Device Keys
Similar to other Samsung Galaxy devices, you can use the Note Edge Home and Power/Lock keys to capture a screenshot.
How:
Press the Home key and the Power/Lock keys simultaneously until you see a white border flashes around the edges of the screen. That should serve as your hint that the screenshot is already captured and copied to the clipboard.
Method 2: Capturing Screenshots with Motion Gestures
Another way to capture a screenshot on the Note Edge is through its Motion Gestures function. This is made possible with the 'Palm Swipe to Capture Screenshot' gesture option supported by this Note device.
Steps:
1. Touch Apps from the Home screen.
2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch Motions and gestures.
4. Touch Palm swipe to capture.
5. To enable the feature, touch the OFF slider next to Palm swipe to capture. Doing so will switch it to ON and activates Palm swipe on your device.
6. Once enabled, you can start capturing a screenshot by touching the screen with the side of your hand and then swiping across from left to right, or vice versa.
Method 3: Capturing screenshots with the S Pen
The Galaxy Note Edge also comes with the S Pen that is utilized for different purposes, including taking screenshots. You can also add some notes or drawings to the screenshot, and then save or share it using Air Command and the S Pen.
Steps:
1. Hold the S Pen about a quarter-inch above the device's screen to open Air Command.
2. Next, press the button on your S Pen. Doing so will get you to the Air Command panel.
3. Use your S Pen to touch 'Screen write' option.
4. Once the screenshot has been taken, you can start editing it using the toolbar located at the top of the screen. The editing tools you can use are represented with different icons, such as Draw, Erase or Crop tools. Simply touch the icons you want to use and touch them again to view the settings you may want to configure for each tool.
5. Once you're done editing the screenshot, touch the Check icon to save notes or edits to the Screenshots folder inside Gallery.
6. If you want to share the screenshot, touch the Share icon and select any of the available sharing options.
Note: Sharing options may differ based on installed applications and turned on features on the device.
By default, the Air Command feature is ON. If you happen to turn it off, just follow these steps to turn it back ON:
1. Touch Apps from the Home screen.
2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch S Pen.
4. Touch Air Command.
5. Touch the OFF slider to turn Air Command ON.
Viewing Screenshots on the Galaxy Note Edge
Now that you've learned the ways to take or capture a screenshot, it's time to learn how to view it from your Note Edge device.
If you want, you can view a screenshot right after you capture it.
How:
1. Swipe from the top of the screen down to the bottom to open the Notification Panel.
2. To open screenshot, touch the Screenshot captured option.
3. When the screenshot is loaded and opened, you can access tools to Delete, Edit, or Share the screenshot from the Notification Panel. To access these tools, swipe down on Screenshot captured if needed.
Alternatively, you can take a screenshot and then view it at some time later.
How:
1. Touch Apps from the Home screen.
2. Touch Gallery.
3. Touch the Menu icon (three-horizontal lines) on the upper-left corner of the Gallery screen.
4. Scroll to and touch to select Album from the View by options.
5. Touch Screenshots to open all stored screenshots in your device.
Manage Screenshot Options on the Galaxy Note Edge
As mentioned earlier, there are several options you can use to manage screenshots on your device. If you want to give it a try, here's a quick guide for you to refer to.
Steps:
1. Go to the Screenshots album.
2. Touch the screenshot you want to manage.
3. You will then see different icons at the top of the screen when viewing the selected screenshot. Use these icons to make some changes or enhancements to the screenshot.
Available icons and functions to use when viewing a screenshot:
You can use any of the following options when viewing a screenshot.
- Change player icon - to view the screenshot on a nearby compatible DLNA enabled device.
- Share via icon - to share the screenshot with one of the available sharing options.
- Camera icon - to open/launch the Camera app.
- Delete icon - to delete or remove the screenshot.
4. To view additional options, touch the More options icon.
Additional options to use are as follow:
You may use any of these options when necessary.
- Edit - to edit the screenshot.
- More info - to view technical details on the screenshot like its size.
- Screen write - to add some notes or drawings to the screenshot.
- Crop - to crop any unnecessary areas out of the screenshot.
- Rename - to change the name of the screenshot.
- Slideshow - to view all screenshots in the folder via slideshow.
- Add tag - to add/create tags for your screenshot. To show all screenshots with certain tag, touch the tag name when using the Gallery Search feature.
- Studio - to edit the screenshot using Photo studio or Video clip studio.
- Set as - to set the screenshot as Home screen wallpaper, Contact photo, or wallpaper for the Home and lock screens.
- Print - to print the screenshots using any available printer through a wireless network, a USB cable or Wi-Fi Direct.
- Settings - to view or edit settings in the Gallery.
You can also turn on or enable Face tag to quickly tag your contacts in photos.
